Research has shown that pain management is critical not only for the comfort of your pet, but also results in more rapid and complete recovery. Therefore, we provide multi-modal pain management before, during and after surgery to keep your pet as pain-free as possible.
Your dog can retain mobility and experience less pain with surgical care for orthopedic conditions through Askey Animal Hospital. A fairly common source of lameness in large dogs, torn cruciate ligament causes pain and instability of the knee joint. Also caused by trauma, degeneration of the cruciate ligament has a genetic component in some canine breeds. As well, a common orthopedic problem in small or toy breed dogs is called medial patellar luxation. With four levels of severity, your small dog’s kneecap pops out of its groove during normal movements.
